Anindita Basu Sempere began her career as an educator in 2000 with the MIT Media Lab's Future of Learning Group. Her research group worked in Mexico, Brazil, Senegal, and Costa Rica, among other countries, to bring project-based learning and technology into classrooms. They collaborated with ministries of education, private foundations, and NGOs. Ms. Sempere was also a founding faculty member of a charter school in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she taught Humanities and Accelerated Algebra 1 in an inclusive, multi-grade classroom environment. She has over a decade of experience as a test prep and academic tutor and has taught students from middle school through adulthood in academic, professional, and creative writing across both private and group settings. She was the Director of Education at Inspirica, a boutique test prep and academic tutoring firm, and co-founded The Writing Faculty, an online tutoring company, where she was also the Executive Director.
Ms. Sempere holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and English from Wellesley College, an S.M. from the MIT Media Lab, an M.A. in English from Boston University's Creative Writing Program, and an M.F.A. in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Ms. Sempere is currently available for short-term projects or teaching engagements. Her specialties include: college admissions, curriculum development, teaching, tutoring, writing, and writing coaching.
